CVE-2021-28569Network attack vector

Memory disclosure via out-of-bounds VOB parsing

Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

An out-of-bounds read in Adobe Media Encoder 15.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to disclose process memory through a crafted VOB file. The VOB parser reads beyond an allocated buffer while processing attacker-controlled file data, exposing adjacent memory in the current user's process. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file on Windows; the reported consequence is limited to memory disclosure.
