Privilege escalation via unsafe OOBE directory handling
Published Sep 29, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Improper input validation in Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop 5.3 and earlier for macOS allows local users to gain elevated directory permissions. The desktop component lets a normal user delete the OOBE directory and obtain permissions on any directory under administrator authority. A standard local account is required; successful exploitation grants elevated permissions over administrator-authorized directories and enables privilege escalation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
