CVE-2021-28508Network attack vector

IPsec secret disclosure via cleartext telemetry streaming

Published May 26, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Cleartext credential disclosure in Arista EOS and TerminAttr allows remote authenticated users to obtain IPsec secrets through telemetry. TerminAttr or EOS's Octa transport includes configured IPsec-sensitive data in telemetry sent to CloudVision or authorized gNMI clients. Exploitation requires TerminAttr or Octa and IPsec to be configured; exposed keys permit decryption or modification of protected traffic.

Exploitability

Present is not the same as exploitable

Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Is a vulnerable build present?
