Script execution via unescaped category parameter
Published Mar 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Seo Panel 4.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through settings.php's category parameter. The page places the category value into the Cancel control without neutralizing an injected event-handler attribute, so the script runs when that control is hovered. Administrative-panel access and victim interaction are required; exploitation can expose the victim's session cookie or redirect the browser.
