Authenticated JavaScript execution via unescaped search_name
Published Mar 18, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Seo Panel 4.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through archive.php search_name input. archive.php places search_name in a quoted page attribute without neutralizing the supplied double quote, so an onmouseover handler is created. Access to the SEO admin panel and hover interaction are required, and successful exploitation exposes the affected user session cookie.
