User-information disclosure via weak runtime-directory permissions
Published Mar 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect permissions in Debian courier-authlib before 0.71.1-2 allow attackers to read authentication-related user information. The package's tmpfiles configuration creates /run/courier/authdaemon with overly broad permissions, exposing authdaemon response data to unauthorized readers. Access to the runtime directory is required; disclosed data includes account existence, identifiers, paths, quota, password hashes, and cleartext passwords in some configurations.
