Application crash via non-raster window icon
Published Mar 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in the fltk crate before 0.15.3 allows attackers to crash an application through a non-raster window icon. WindowExt::set_icon sends the non-raster image through FLTK's lazy rasterization path and then dereferences a NULL image pointer. Reachability depends on a consuming application invoking this API with a non-raster image; the resulting dereference terminates that process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
