Browser script execution via unescaped search parameters
Published Apr 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in PHPFusion 9.03.110 search.php allows remote attackers to inject script through crafted search parameters. The Search_Engine::get_param method returned attacker-controlled search text and option values without output encoding, allowing them to reach rendered results and footer JavaScript. Exploitation requires a victim to interact with the crafted request, after which script runs in that victim's browser and can read or alter page content.
