Authenticated Web-service crash via unchecked configuration string

Buffer overflow in ASUS BMC firmware allows remote authenticated users with administrative privileges to crash the Web management service. The Firmware protocol configuration function accepts an overlong string without validating its length, overrunning a buffer during Web-page processing. Access to the privileged management interface is required, and successful exploitation terminates the Web service without reported data disclosure or modification.
