Authenticated command injection via ping host

Command injection in D-Link DIR-841 firmware 3.03 and 3.04 allows remote authenticated users on the LAN to execute arbitrary commands via /jsonrpc. The endpoint passes the host parameter from System Tools ping, ping6, and traceroute requests into command execution without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Administrative web-interface authentication and LAN access are required, and successful exploitation can provide control of router internals with confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact.
