Root command execution via unsanitized domain parameters
Published Apr 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in Okta Access Gateway 2020.8.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute OS commands through its admin UI. The UI inserts cookieDomain and relayDomain values into arguments for the privileged generateCert.sh shell script without neutralizing command substitutions. Administrator access is required, and successful injection runs commands as root, granting control over appliance data and operation.
