Stored script execution via unsanitized Display Name
Published Mar 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in ImpressCMS profile 1.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser via Display Name. The profile handler in modules/content/admin/content.php stores the field without neutralizing injected HTML or script before output. A low-privileged account must save crafted profile data, and another user must view the affected output, enabling page changes or actions in that viewer's session.
