CVE-2021-27971

Local code execution through DLL injection

Published Jan 31, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

DLL injection in Alps Alpine Touchpad Driver 10.3201.101.215 allows local users to execute arbitrary code on the system. Alps Alpine identifies improper access control in the driver but has not disclosed the affected file, loading path, or unchecked operation that permits DLL injection. A low-privilege local account is required, and successful exploitation grants arbitrary code execution and access to kernel memory.
