Stored script execution via unescaped e-mail value
Published May 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus before 6104 allows attackers to execute JavaScript through an Active Directory e-mail field. The directory-search results insert the stored e-mail value into the More tab without HTML escaping, so script tags execute in the viewer's browser. An attacker must first place the payload in a directory user's e-mail attribute, and a user must search for that account and open More; the script then runs in that user's web session.
