Unauthenticated command execution via privileged binary upload
Published Aug 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in Vizio P65-F1 6.0.31.4-2 and E50x-E1 10.0.31.4-2 Smart TVs allows remote attackers to execute OS commands. The privileged TV API accepts unauthenticated requests to its install endpoint and runs an attacker-supplied binary package. Network access to TCP port 7345 is sufficient, and the resulting OS-level execution supports persistence and attacks against neighboring assets.
