Administrator session compromise via unsanitized job name
Published Mar 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Silverstripe Queued Jobs allows remote attackers to run script in an administrator's browser through a crafted URL. The CreateQueuedJobTask endpoint directly echoes the name GET parameter into its response without neutralizing HTML or JavaScript. An administrator must open the link; Dev mode executes the payload immediately, while Live mode also requires confirmation, enabling actions with the victim's session.
