Local privilege escalation
Published Aug 25, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Privilege escalation in Stormshield SSL VPN Client 2.1.0 through 3.0.0 allows local users to obtain the client service's privileges. The vendor identifies the privileged SSL VPN Client service as the escalation locus but intentionally withholds the defective code path and operation that permit the privilege transition. Exploitation requires limited rights on an already-compromised Windows system and grants the access held by the service.
