Sensitive data exposure via unencrypted PPKG generation
Published May 25, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Missing encryption in HCL BigFix Mobile and Modern Client Management 2.0 and 2.1 allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive PPKG data. The Bulk Enroll package-generation workflow writes sensitive enrollment information into a user-generated Windows provisioning package without encrypting it. Exploitation requires low-privileged network access and user interaction with the generated file; HCL does not identify the exposed fields.
