Account compromise via unrestricted password guessing
Published Jan 19, 2023 · Updated Apr 2, 2025
Improper login-attempt restriction in HCL BigFix Mobile 2.0.x allows remote attackers to brute-force Admin and Config UI passwords. The Admin and Config UI authentication paths continue accepting password guesses instead of locking an account after multiple invalid attempts. Network reachability to either login interface is required; a successful guess exposes the functions and data authorized to the compromised account.
