Local privilege escalation in HCL BigFix Server API for Windows 9.5 through 9.5.18 and 10 through 10.0.5 allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. A cached MSI repair writes and executes temporary files beneath the triggering user's TEMP directory while operating in the Windows Installer service's SYSTEM context. Any authenticated local user can initiate the repair, enabling complete control of the Windows host without prior administrative rights.
