CVE-2021-27654Network attack vector

Authentication bypass via local-account password reset

Published Jan 28, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Authentication bypass in Pega Infinity 8.2.1 through 8.6.0 allows remote attackers to access local accounts through password reset. The forgotten-password workflow accepts a reset path that bypasses local authentication checks, but Pega has not disclosed the faulty validation or request locus. Exploitation requires user interaction under Pega's published CVSS assessment and grants only the privileges assigned to the targeted local account.
