Application crash via malformed TIF file
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer before 9 allows context-dependent attackers to crash it with a manipulated TIF file. The TIF parser accepts malformed image data without adequate validation, but SAP has not disclosed the precise parsing operation that fails. A user must open the untrusted file; exploitation interrupts only that viewer instance until the user restarts it.
