CVE-2021-27638

Application crash via malformed JT file

Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer before 9 allows attackers to crash the application through a manipulated JT file. The JT-file parser accepts malformed content without adequate validation; SAP has not disclosed a more specific faulty function or operation. Exploitation requires a user to open an untrusted file, and the resulting service interrupt lasts until the user restarts the viewer.
