Service crash via unchecked strchr results
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Memory corruption in SAP Internet Graphics Service 7.20, 7.20EXT, 7.20_EX2, 7.53, and 7.81 allows remote attackers to crash the service. ChartInterpreter::DoIt() fails to validate several strchr() return values before calculating the next parameter offset from crafted interpreter input. No authentication is required, but exploitation requires retrieval of an existing system-state value and an IGS network request; the result is a service crash without data access or modification.
