Authenticated data disclosure via XML entity resolution
Published Apr 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
XML External Entity in SAP Process Integration ESR Java Mappings 7.10 through 7.50 allows remote authenticated users to disclose data via crafted XML. The Java mapping XML parser resolves attacker-supplied external entities instead of blocking them, permitting references to local files or other reachable resources. An authenticated user able to submit or trigger a mapping document is required; the documented impact is information disclosure rather than configuration change or service interruption.
