Application crash via malformed .3DS file parsing
Published Mar 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer before 9 allows local users to crash the application with a crafted .3DS file. The .3DS import path processes malformed Autodesk 3D Studio data without adequate validation; SAP has not disclosed a narrower function or failing operation. Opening the untrusted file is required, and the resulting service interrupt lasts until the user restarts the Viewer.
