CVE-2021-27594

Application crash via malformed BMP file

Published Mar 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer before 9 allows attackers to crash the application via a manipulated BMP file. The BMP-processing component accepts malformed bitmap input without adequate validation, but SAP has not disclosed the exact parsing operation that fails. A user must open the untrusted file; exploitation interrupts only that Viewer session until the application restarts.
