CVE-2021-27571Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated application inventory disclosure via act command

Published May 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information disclosure in Emote Remote Mouse 4.0.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to retrieve application names, icons, and paths. The TCP service on port 1979 accepts an unauthenticated act command, and q.b serializes each tracked application's name, path, status, window handle, and PNG icon into the response. Network reachability to port 1979 is sufficient even when a server password is configured, exposing recently used and running application inventory without altering the host.
