CVE-2021-27569Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated window-state manipulation via crafted process-name packet

Published May 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Missing authentication in Emote Remote Mouse 4.0.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter running-process window states. Its UDP command handler accepts a cleartext process name without authenticating the sender and passes it to window maximize or minimize operations. Network reachability to the Remote Mouse service is sufficient, and the bounded impact is unauthorized window-state modification rather than process termination or code execution.
