Authenticated script execution via unencoded valueID
Published Mar 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in the DynPG 4.9.2 admin panel allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through the valueID parameter. The backendpopup/popup.php page places valueID in an HTML attribute without neutralizing quotation marks, so a crafted value adds an event handler. An administrator must be signed in, open the crafted URL, and hover over the rendered element, which executes script in the DynPG origin and exposes that browser session.
