Browser script execution via unencoded search parameter
Published Mar 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in FUDForum 3.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in another user's browser through a crafted search request. The index.php search page returns the srch value without safe attribute encoding, so a quote introduces an onmouseover handler. No authentication is required, but a victim must load the crafted response and hover over the injected element for script execution.
