Message tampering via hard-coded protocol secrets
Published Aug 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cryptographic weakness in Ypsomed mylife App before 1.7.5 and mylife Cloud before 1.7.2 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to alter messages. The application-layer protocol protects App-to-Cloud traffic, including credentials, with hard-coded secrets rather than deployment-specific secrets. A victim must use the affected App across a path the attacker can intercept; successful use exposes or alters transmitted data without interrupting service.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
