CVE-2021-27430

Privileged bootloader access via hardcoded credentials

Published Mar 23, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Hardcoded credentials in General Electric UR Family Bootloader 7.00, 7.01, and 7.02 allow physically proximate attackers to gain privileged access. The binary contains unused embedded credentials, but GE has not disclosed the authentication path, credential values, or authorized operations. Physical access to a UR IED is required, and rebooting the device can interrupt its boot sequence, exposing privileged access and service interruption at startup.
