Insecure default initialization in GE Multilin Universal Relay firmware before 8.1x allows remote attackers to retain Factory Mode access. The Basic security variant initializes Factory Mode without a supported off state, so administrators cannot disable the servicing path. Network reachability to an affected relay is the documented gate; public advisories do not disclose the Factory user authentication flow or exact operations exposed.
