CVE-2021-27417

Heap corruption via unchecked calloc multiplication

Published May 3, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Integer wraparound in calloc in eCosCentric eCosPro RTOS 2.0.1 through 4.5.3 allows local users to corrupt heap memory. The calloc implementation fails to validate the product of its element-count and element-size arguments, so an oversized request wraps to a small allocation before associated data exceeds that buffer. Exploitation requires high privileges, user interaction, and attacker-influenced allocation input; successful writes can corrupt memory or interrupt the target.
