CVE-2021-27411Network attack vector

Memory misallocation via pool-size integer wraparound

Published May 3, 2022 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Integer overflow in Micrium OS 5.10.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause incorrect allocations via crafted pool sizes. Mem_DynPoolCreate, Mem_DynPoolCreateHW, and Mem_PoolCreate fail to validate allocation-size arithmetic before assigning memory, allowing large requested sizes to wrap into very small blocks. Network access requires no authentication or user interaction, and the resulting misallocation can alter memory state and interrupt the embedded device.
