User redirection via unvalidated Host header
Published Feb 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Open redirect in Askey RTF8115VW firmware allows remote authenticated users to redirect users through a crafted Host header. The web interface accepts an attacker-chosen Host value and redirects the victim's browser to that host instead of restricting redirects to trusted destinations. Exploitation requires a valid router web session and victim interaction; a fake login destination can capture credentials or cookies.
