Code execution via PAR parser out-of-bounds write
Published Mar 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Solid Edge SE2020 before SE2020MP13 and SE2021 before SE2021MP4 allows attackers to execute code via crafted PAR files. The PAR parser fails to validate file-controlled data before writing past the end of an allocated structure in the current process. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file; successful corruption permits code execution with that user's process privileges, while failed attempts can crash the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
