Stored script execution via unescaped middle name
Published Feb 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Monica 2.19.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through a contact's Middle Name field. The Contact page stores the field without neutralizing Vue template expressions, so a crafted constructor expression executes when the contact is viewed or edited. An authenticated account must save the payload and another user must open the contact, exposing that user's session data to the injected script.
