Out-of-bounds read in IrfanView 4.57 with WPG plugin before 3.1.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted WPG file. WPG!ReadWPG_W calls through a pointer to freed or unallocated memory, allowing file-controlled data to redirect control flow. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file; demonstrated outcomes include an application crash and exploitable control-flow corruption.
