Browser script execution via unsanitized language parameter
Published Mar 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Clansphere CMS 2011.4 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user's browser through a crafted language parameter. The mods/clansphere/lang_modvalidate.php endpoint reflects the language query value into its response without neutralizing HTML and script markup. Exploitation requires a user to follow the crafted URL; the injected script runs in the site's browser context and can read or alter data available to that session.
