Root command execution via SUID getJobsByShell
Published Jan 6, 2025 · Updated Jan 7, 2025
Local privilege escalation in Inspur ClusterEngine 4.0 allows local users to execute arbitrary commands as root through getJobsByShell. The getJobsByShell executable has SUID root permissions and accepts an attacker-chosen program path, such as /bin/sh, without dropping privileges. Any non-administrative local account able to execute the component can obtain an unrestricted root shell and compromise the host.
