Arbitrary file deletion via path parameter traversal
Published Mar 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in NETGEAR ProSAFE Network Management System before 1.6.0.27 allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files. ReportTemplateController passes an insufficiently validated path parameter into file operations, permitting traversal outside the intended directory. Network access to the web interface is required; authentication is nominally required but can be bypassed, and deleting application files can interrupt the service.
