Stored script execution via Display Name attribute
Published Feb 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in the BlackCat CMS 1.3.6 admin panel allows remote authenticated users to execute script via the Display Name field. backend/preferences/ajax_save.php stores an attribute-breaking Display Name value without neutralizing it before the profile control is rendered. Administrator access is required to save the value, and a later pointer hover executes the script in the viewing administrator's browser context.
