Code execution via ActiveX username buffer overflow
Published Feb 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Pelco Digital Sentry Server 7.18.72.11464 allows remote attackers to execute code through a malicious webpage. SetCameraConnectionParameter accepts an oversized username argument, and the RTSPLive555.dll ActiveX control writes it past a protected stack buffer's bounds. Internet Explorer must instantiate the control and the victim must visit the crafted page; successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied code.
