Reachable assertion in OpenLDAP slapd through 2.4.57 and 2.5.x through 2.5.1alpha allows remote attackers to exit the daemon. issuerAndThisUpdateCheck passes a too-short thisUpdate timestamp to checkTime, which reaches an assertion instead of rejecting the malformed value. A crafted network request requires no authentication or user interaction and interrupts directory service without reported data disclosure or modification.
