Unauthenticated account takeover via predictable reset code
Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authentication bypass in WoWonder 3.0.4 allows remote attackers to take over any account via predictable password-reset codes. The recover.php flow derives the code parameter from the reset timestamp and a small 111–999 value, allowing attackers to calculate valid codes and submit the reset request. No prior account authentication is required, and successful exploitation grants access to any WoWonder account.
