CVE-2021-27178Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via plaintext NVRAM storage

Published Feb 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Cleartext storage in FiberHome HG6245D through RP2613 allows attackers to read wireless passwords through network-reachable management access. The device's NVRAM contains unencrypted wl0 and wl0.1 keys, SSIDs, and WPA passphrases exposed by the nvram show command. Reading these values requires shell access to the device, so the confidentiality impact depends on first obtaining that access through an available management or administrative path.
