Wi-Fi credential disclosure via world-readable configuration
Published Feb 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext credential storage in FiberHome HG6245D firmware through RP2613 allows remote attackers to read 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi secrets. The /fhconf/fh_wifi/wifictl_2g.cfg file records WPA-PSK, WEP, and RADIUS keys without encryption and grants read access through mode 0644. Exploitation requires a network path that yields filesystem access, after which the exposed keys can provide access to protected wireless networks.
