CLI access via hard-coded gepon password
Published Feb 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in FiberHome AN5506-04-FA firmware RP2631 allow remote attackers to access the device's Telnet CLI. The libci_adaptation_layer.so firmware library contains a fixed password matching the gepon account name that the CLI authentication path accepts. The service is not reachable by default over IPv4, but management actions can enable it, and default IPv6 exposure can place it within remote reach.
